Phantasticine
A downloadable game
Phantasticine is a one-player analog roleplaying game where play occurs completely within the player’s imagination. The root of the word is the archaic version of fantastic, meaning “imaginary”, which carries supernatural connotations. The suffix here simply means “of or pertaining to.”
Primarily designed in the moments before I fell asleep, Phantasticine is also inspired by the podcasts Nothing Much Happens with Kathryn Nicolai and Sleepy with Otis Gray. I hope it helps you sleep well.
Illustrated by: Maria Capelle Frantz is an Alaskan-born cartoonist who now lurks in the shadowy corners of the pacific northwest, where she spends her days creating comics and illustrations. Her stories tend to use fantasy to explore representation and gender roles, and aim to expand the limitations of the labels we carry with us throughout our lives.
